Grade 7 student gets support
An incoming Grade 7 student who struggled to enroll online in a pisonet computer shop in Caloocan City received support from netizens.
Peter Salire De Guzman wrote on his Facebook account that he saw Jhonel “Kokey” Agner Adarayan having a hard time filling up forms for enrollment online.
“Saw this kid just now 8:30 in the evening…Sa Pisonet Shop in front of our house. Akala ko naglalaro lang ng computer games…’Yun pala, nag-e-enroll siya online ng mag isa at nahihirapan siya mag fill up ng form (I thought he was just playing computer games, but he was enrolling online by himself and was having a hard time),” he said.
De Guzman noticed that the kid’s computer time was running out so he gave him extra money and helped Jhonel, 12, fill up the form.
“Tinulungan ko na mag fill up…Kasi anytime dadaan na yung mga bgy. (barangay) tanod (the barangay tanod will pass by to remind everyone) for curfew,” he said.
De Guzman also said according to Jhonel’s form, he doesn’t have any budget for internet and data allowance, no mobile phone, computer, or tablet, and his parents don’t have work due to quarantine.
De Guzman’s post went viral and a lot of people reached out to him to donate computer equipment for Jhonel.
