Caloocan welcomes support of USAID

Taos-pusong ipinaabot ni Mayor Oca Malapitan ang kaniyang pasasalamat sa United States Agency For International Development (USAID) at Department of Health (DOH) para sa tulong at suporta na natatanggap ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan kaugnay ng patuloy na laban sa pandemya.

Sa programa kahapon sa Buena Park, Caloocan, inanunsyo ng USAID sa pangunguna ni Chargé d'Affaires John C. Law kasama si USAID Philippines Mission Director Lawrence Hardy II ang $3.5 million vaccine technical assistance ng ahensya para sa DOH na pinangungunahan ni Sec. Francisco Duque.

Para sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan, sinabi ni City Administrator Engr. Oliver Hernandez, kinatawan ni Mayor Oca, na malaki ang naitulong ng USAID sa pamamagitan ng programa nitong ReachHealth Project.

Kabilang dito ang donasyong 59 hand hygiene stations, suporta sa COVID-19 data management system at communication campaign, at maging sa karagdagang health professional volunteers.

"The City Government of Caloocan is very thankful to the USAID. Since the onset of the pandemic, the USAID has been assisting the city in so many ways. We are looking forward to a more strengthened collaboration and partnership with the USAID and DOH, as we work together to win against this pandemic," pahayag ni CA Hernandez.

Pagkatapos ng maiksing programa ay nagsagawa ng inspection sa vaccination site ang mga kinatawan ng USAID at DOH kasama sina City Health Officer Dra. Evelyn Cuevas at Caloocan Vaccination Task Force Action Officer Dra. Rachel Basa. Pinangunahan din ni DOH Sec. Duque ang pagbabakuna sa isang senior citizen.
