Caloocan opens new judicial building

Pinangunahan nina Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta at Mayor Oca Malapitan ang ceremonial signing at groundbreaking ceremony ng ipatatayong bagong Caloocan City Judicial Building.

Ang pitong palapag na gusali na may dalawang basement ay itatayo sa lupang pagmamay-ari ng Pamahalaang Lungsod sa tabi ng New Caloocan City Hall, Grace Park. Ito ay target matapos sa katapusan ng taong 2022.

Ang konstruksyon ng proyektong ito ay maisasakatuparan sa pagtutulungan ng Pamahalaang Lungsod at ng Korte Suprema.

Ayon kay Mayor Oca Malapitan, bago pa man dumating ang pandemya ay nakaplano na ang pagpapatayo ng bagong Judicial Building.

"Dumating tayo sa punto na akala natin hindi na ito maisasakatuparan dahil sa pandemyang ating kinakaharap, subalit hindi po tayo pinabayaan ng Panginoon at inadya niya na matupad ang aking ipinangakong bagong Justice Building para sa mga mamamayan ng Caloocan," ani Mayor Oca.

Nagpasalamat ang Punong-Lungsod sa Korte Suprema sa pangunguna ni Chief Justice Peralta at maging kay Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar na nagpaabot rin ng kaniyang suporta sa proyekto.

Ipinaabot din ni Chief Justice Peralta ang kaniyang pasasalamat kay Mayor Oca para sa proyektong ito.

"Ito pong proposed Judicial Building ng Caloocan ang pinakatamaas at pinakamagandang Judicial Building na ating nakitang isinakatuparan ng mga LGU," pahayag ni CJ Peralta.

Bukod dito, binati rin ni CJ Peralta ang Caloocan at sinabing malaki na ang pag-unlad nito pagdating sa kalinisan at kaayusan kumpara noon.

Pagtitiyak naman ni Mayor Oca, hanggang sa kaniyang huling taon bilang Punong-Lungsod ay magpapatuloy ang mga programang para sa tao, habang pinaka-prayoridad pa rin ang laban sa pandemya.

Dumalo rin sa programa sina Cong. Along Malapitan, Coun. Enteng Malapitan, City Administrator Oliver Hernandez, ang mga opisyales at kinawatan mula sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan, Supreme Court at Caloocan City Regional Trial Court.

Ang New Judicial Building ay isa sa mga malalaking programang pang-imprastraktura sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Mayor Oca Malapitan. Ilan sa kaniyang mga naunang proyekto ay ang New City Hall, Caloocan Sports Complex, University of Caloocan City North and South campuses, Caloocan City South and North Medical Centers at Caloocan People's Park.
