Caloocan offers free rides during transport strike
The Caloocan City Police Station, under the leadership of Chief of Police PCol Ruben Lacuesta, has issued a directive to increase police visibility and implement maximum tolerance during the transport strike that is expected to take place from March 6 to March 12, 2023. The safety of commuters and non-participating drivers is the top priority of the city government.
In addition to the police force, the Public Safety and Traffic Management Department and the Caloocan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office have also been instructed to be vigilant and responsive to the needs of the public during the strike. To alleviate the impact of the transport strike on the public, the city government will provide free rides on routes expected to be heavily affected.
Moreover, in anticipation of the possible disruption of classes, the local government has announced the temporary suspension of online classes in all public and private schools throughout the city.
The city government of Caloocan reassures its constituents that it is prepared to respond to any emergencies that may arise during the transport strike. The government is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of its citizens, especially the youth, who are the future of the city.
