Two subdivisions in Caloocan City were planced under five-day “extreme lockdown” starting March 22, after recording a high number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, according to a report by Manila Bulletin

The Kingstown 2 and Queensville Subdivision in Barangay 171 were placed under lockdown until March 28, 2021 after most of the barangay’s 65 active COVID-19 cases were recorded there.

Photos from the local government showed that concrete barriers, aluminum and wooden fences, among others, were installed in different entry and exit points of the two subdivisions.

Mayor Oca Malapitan, who visited the area on the first day of lockdown, ordered the police and the officials of the barangay to implement strict protocols, including prohibiting the entry of non-residents and barring residents from going outside.

For five days, the provisions of the affected families will be supplied by the local government, Malapitan said.
